Gimmers from Michael Leggat’s Foremanhill flock led the way at United Auctions’ annual Texel show and sale at Stirling, attracting the top two prices at 3000gns and 2400gns.
Mr Leggat, who manages Jim Innes’ Strathbogie flock from Dunscroft, Huntly, and also owns his Texels, saw his sale leader, by Aman Vyrnwy, sell in lamb to Strathbogie Yes Big Boy, to Derbyshire breeder, C Asher, Ashbourne.
His 2400gns gimmer, by Strathbogie William Wallace, sold to A Jack, Kilcoy, Muir of Ord, who also went to 1700gns for a gimmer by Aman Vrynwy, from Mr Innes, Strathbogie.
Two gimmers came under the hammer for 1800gns, including the first prize winner selected by judge, David Morrison, Dalwyne. This was a Killyvolgan gimmer by Auldhouseburn WackoJacko, bought by John Connell Farms.
Minutes later, G Wilson, Hawick, went to the same money for a gimmer by Dechmont Triple Chance from Karen and Allan Wight, Midlock, Crawford.
