A Texel gimmer from the Lockhart family from Norfolk, secured the lead price of 1500gns at the multi-breed September Sheep Sale at Newark.
A twin-born gimmer by Stainton Venom, out of a dam by Mitchellhill Toby, she sold to AH Booth, Hardwick Lane, Sheffield.
Leading the Beltex trade at 900gns was Booden Caesar, a shearling ram by Dooley Aaron, from the Booden flock of A Hamplett, purchased by SS Hinchley, Brockhurst, Chesterfield.
Aberdeenshire breeder, Stuart Wood, Skene, bought the top priced Beltex females at 600gns twice. First to hit this mark was Richard Harrison’s gimmer Harridale Cha-Cha-Cha, by Harridale Break Away.
Later Stonedge Delia, a Cynin Count Down-sired ewe lamb from David and Matthew Prince, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, made the same money selling to Mr Wood.
