Quality was the order of the day at the virtual dispersal of Paul Walker's Crackleybank pedigree herds of British Blues and Limousins at Worcester Auction Mart, where the first cow and calf outfit topped the sale at 4800gns.

Sale leader was the British Blue Crackleybank Inca Girl ET – a five-year-old regular breeding cow by Solway View Dynamite, four months in calf to a Limousin which made 2600gns selling to EC Haste, Beaworthy Devon. Her eight-month-old pedigree bull calf, Crackleybank Nelson, by Astrics JJ made 2200gns to TJ Griffiths Carmarthen, giving a combined total of 4800gns.

British Blues were well in favour with Crackleybank Honey Girl ET a fifth calver back in calf to a Limousin, selling at

2350gns also to EC Haste, Devon. Another by Solway View Dynamite ET, her six-month-old Limousin cross bull calf made 1050gns to RJ Wright, Somerton, Somerset to give a combined figure of 3400gns.

The same sire was behind the 3200gns, Crackleybank Iron Candy too, the second prize British Blue show heifer at the Royal Welsh in 2016, bought by K Morgan, Almeley, Hereford.

Limousins also held the limelight with Crackleybank Lisa a calved heifer by Ronick Matador, back in calf to a Limousin selling at 2550gns to I Snape, Redditch, Worcestershire. Her 10-month-old daughter by Lodge Hamlet made 1280gns to RJ Gooding, Somerton, Somerset.

Top price amongst the commercials was 3780gns paid for a six-year-old Limousin cross British Blue with six-month-old Limousin cross bull calf at foot by Cloughhead Lancelot, purchased by GP Brooke, Alfrick, Worcestershire.
