Cumbrian Lieutenant Poll, a Salers bull from Tom and Ian Walling's herd from Over Whitlaw, Selkirk, has been sold privately for £12,000 and is heading to his native homeland in France with Laurent Antignac of Elite Export.
Backed by the best of genetics, he is by Cumbrian Capernello Poll, a home-bred bull that produced a 10,000gns sale for the brothers at the breed sale at Castle Douglas in 2015.
His dam is Cumbrian Veritable 510, by the well-known French sire, Vaillant.
