South Country Cheviot judge, Lorraine Luescher, Megdale, Langholm, bought the top two highest priced lots at the Border Breeds sheep show and sale at Longtown, on Tuesday.
First on her list at £750 was her choice of reserve overall champion, a one-crop ewe from Alasdair Warden, Skelfhill. She is by Potholm Forceful and sold carrying twins to a home-bred son of Cnewr Ambassador
Mrs Luescher also went to £500 for her champion winner, a four-crop ewe by Stirkfield Sinatra, from Robert Paton, Castle Crawford, Abington. She changed hands carrying a pair of twin lambs to a home-bred son of Castle Bulldozer.
Jane Jackson, Ericstane, Moffat, selected the top winners in the North Country Cheviot section and found her champion in the first prize gimmer from Philiphaugh Estates with the reserve presented to the lead ewe from KO Stones, Nun Cote Nook, Richmond
