Auctioneers Wright Marshall and Hassall brothers have entered into a joint venture in a bid to expand the already substantial sales of pedigree and commercial dairy cattle at Beeston Castle Auction.
As from Thursday February 28, and every Thursday thereafter, there will be a catalogued sale of pedigree and commercial dairy cattle which, once a month, will include a monthly pedigree show and sale.
The sales team will be headed up by Simon Lamb and Stuart Hassall.
In addition, and in order to provide an improved service to their database of livestock farmers, weekly sales of cattle and sheep at Beeston will be reorganised, so that from Thursday, March 7, and on every Thursday thereafter, there will be a weekly sale of all classes of cattle and sheep on one day.
This will include prime, store and breeding cattle; rearing and weaned calves; cull cows; prime lambs; cull ewes; store and breeding sheep, commencing with calves at 8.30am.
The change is being made to allow more flexible trading for farmers within the six-day whole-farm standstill rule, allowing them to sell and buy livestock on the same day.
