The long trip north from Ayrshire to Huntly proved fruitful for David Alexander, when he sold three of the top four highest prices females at United Auctions' inaugural Huntly Hotties sale of in-lamb pedigree sheep, on Monday.

Mr Alexander from Millside, Galston, led the trade with Blue Texel gimmers which sold to 1100gns twice and 1000gns. First up was a gimmer carrying twins to which was purchased by J and A Strathdee, North Retanach, Rothiemay, with the second, carrying triplets knocked down to S Moir, Auchairn, Keith. Both are daughters of Sams Yoyo and in lamb to Millside DJA

Aberlour breeder, S Shand, Rowans, bought the 1000gns Blue Texel, a Jethart-bred gimmer by a Corra sire and due with twins to Lyles Django, from Mr Alexander who sold six gimmers to average £1046.50.

Bruce and Colin Mair's Aviemore flock from Turriff, led the Beltex trade at 950gns with a Bailey Brook CR7 ET gimmer, carrying a single by Heatheryhall Rascal. She is bred from Aviemore Ada 5 ET, a former Turriff Show champion and was bought by Peter Milton, Mains of Allanbuie, Keith.
