Aldi and Tesco have again topped The Scottish Farmer’s Retail Radar for supporting Scottish and British beef and lamb most in the most recent weeks.
Aldi has again come in pole position for the week commencing August 24, with 93% of its beef products and 84% of its lamb being Scotch, with all other products are British.
This compares to Tesco where Scotch Beef accounted for 80% of the beef range with 3% from Ireland and the rest identified as British. Some 73% of the lamb was from North of the Border, with 12% from New Zealand and the remainder marked as British.
Lidl and the Co-op are not far behind with the former seeing Scotch Beef with 79% of the range and Scotch lamb at 50% and again, all other products were of British origin.
The Co-op saw 74% of its beef range being Scotch, with lamb at 50% and all other products being British.
