Dawyck Frank the Tank, a Bluefaced Leicester ram lamb from Malcolm Thornborrow and sons, Craig and Gary, has been sold privately for £10,000.
The N1 ram, from the family’s 35-pure ewe flock from Easter Dawyck, Lanarkshire, is by last year’s £30,000 M1 Hewgill purchase.
Equally impressive is the dam, the J36 Dawyck show ewe that was reserve female at the Highland in 2017 only to be beaten by her mother, G30 Dawyck, which won the breed title and was part of the champion inter-breed pairs the same year at Ingliston.
He sold in a two-way split to Hugh Henry, of the Starbog flock, and Steven Wilson and son, James, of the Deerfin flock, with both flocks in Northern Ireland.
