Messrs Lord's Hewgill flock continued on its winning ways at the inaugural sale of crossing-type Bluefaced Leicesters at Penrith, on Sunday evening, producing the top priced lot at £5500.

Selling at this price was a shearling ram by the F52 Hewgill purchased by J Ireland and Sons, Stock How Hall, Frizington.

Ram lambs peaked at £3500 for a son of the L33 Hewgill from G and HR Shields' Skeughdale flock from Tarn House.

An added attraction of the event was the dispersal from WH Raine, Ravenwood Cottage, Renwick, which peaked at £2800 for a shearling ram by a Woodhall tup. The buyer was J Nattrass, Shield Hill Top, Garrigill.
