A north-type Blackface shearling ram from Tom and Mairi Paterson and son Robert, Craigneich, Comrie, secured the lead price of £22,000 at United Auctions' combined sale of 921 south and 244 Perth-type rams at Stirling.
The ram, by a £5000 Hillhead of Mornish, sold to David Baillie and son David, Calla, Carnwath, with another by the same sire from Craigneich selling for the second top price of £11,000 jointly to Bert Grant, Glendamph, Glenisla and J Hunter, Glenarm, Northern Ireland.
South-type rams were topped at £10,500 by a shearling ram from Alan Smith, Wester Crosswoodhill, purchased by Jen Craig, Normangill, Abington.
