A Blackface ram lamb from Ian Hunter, Dalchirla, has sold for a new breed record price of £200,000 to Archie and John MacGregor, Allanfauld, Kilsyth, the Wights at Midlock, Crawford and the Campbell family from Glenrath, Peebles, with Mr Hunter retaining an equal share.
He is bred from a home-bred son of Dalchirla Boris, out of a ewe by a £24,000 Connachan, and sold through United Auctions' Stirling Dalmally sale.
