Entries from Neil Barclay's Harestone Charolais herd from Crathes, Banchory, topped the inaugural sale of pedigree heifers at the Aberdeen Christmas Classic at Thainstone Centre, which sold to 3200gns on two occasions.

First to reach this price was the two-year-old Harestone Sundance, a daughter of Goldies Oasis, out of the Inverlochy Ferdie daughter, Harestone Merry. Brought out by Robert Marshall, she sold to William Law, West Cruichie, Drumblade.

Matching that was the similarly aged, Harestone Spice Girl, by Harestone Nano, out of Harestone Janville. Christopher Abernethy, Belvedere, Middleton of Potterton, was the final bidder.

Harestone Solo, a November 2021-born entry by the French sire, Nestor, made 3000gns selling to A Matheson, Park View, Auckengill, Wick.

Two-year-old pedigree Limousin heifers from Albert and George Howie, West Knock, Mintlaw, reached 2500gns three times. Knock Sara, by Wilodge Ninja, was purchased by WF Cruickshank, Clury Farm, Dulnain Bridge, Grantown-on-Spey with Knock Sassy also by Ninja, selling to AT Wilson and Co, Brownhill of Annoch, Auchnagatt.

Knock Sienna, by Goldies Politician, was the other at 2500gns and sold to I and G Urquhar, 65 Pennan Road, Ellon.
