Prices peaked at 4900gns at the Border and Lakeland Holstein Club and pedigree Dairy Day sale at Carlisle, where heifers in milk averaged in excess of £2000.

Topping the trade was the reserve champion, selected by the pre-sale show judge, Neil Sloan of the Knowe herd in Ayrshire. This was Graham Kirby's heifer in milk, Richaven Chief Adeen, a Stantons Chief-sired heifer from the Absolute herd from Preston. A daughter of the Ex93-2E SP cow, Richaven Control Adeen 2, she goes back to Aitkenbrae Starbuck Ada, with her third dam, Lavenham Adeen, being a former champion at the Great Yorkshire, UK Dairy Expo and Agriscot. She sold for 4900gns to the Caldwell family in Ayrshire.

The champion was one of two to sell at 3000gns. Grayridge Milo Zambese, another fresh heifer in milk from Jim and David Gray, Drumtall, East Kilbride, is a daughter of Eclipse Milo out of Crystalclear Control Zambese. The buyer was Scott Forsyth, Baltier, Whithorn, Newton Stewart.
