A 16-month-old show winning Charolais bull from Robert Young, Mornity Farms, Alyth, has been sold privately for £12,500 to father and daughter duo, Allan and Louise McArthur, of the Cretlevane and Endrick herds.
The bull, Mornity Usher is sired by Westcarse Houdini, a bull bought for 14,000gns in partnership with the Elgin herd at Carlisle, in 2013 and out of Elrick Rizzo, a Maerdy Gouvernor daughter purchased at the White Gold sale at Carlisle in 2022.

Backed by the best of genetics, Rizzo is a grand-daughter of Elrick Florida which has bred champion and reserve winners at Stirling and bulls selling to 25,000gns, 12,500gns, and 8500gns for the Massies.
Westcarse Houdini has also bred several five-figure and high four-figure priced bulls for the Mornity and Elgin herds.
Usher has already made his mark in the show ring, taking inter-breed cattle champion at Angus Show and a second at the Royal Highland.
