A great ringside of buyers was forward for the dispersal of late Hillary Barker's Torrie Highland cattle fold and plant and machinery staged on the farm at Mid Torrie, Callander.
The Torrie fold was established in 1989 with the purchase of Leannan Og 11 of Hungerhill and Eurach Ghruinn 6 of Hungerhill – both lines tracing back to the renowned Douneside fold.
Caledonian Marts, Stirling conducted the sale which peaked at £5000 for Oighrig Ruadh 6 of Torrie, a six-year-old cow with Oighrig Dhubh 2, a black heifer calf at foot.
In-calf heifers sold for £3000 for Una 2 of Redford.
All young stock at the sale were sired by Jock Dubh of Glengarnock with in-calf heifers sold due to Dubh Armunm of Seam.
