Rawburn Kaboom, an Aberdeen Angus bull in the top 1% for four individual performance traits and top 1% for terminal Index, has been sold privately for £40,000.

Kaboom, a March 2023-born bull from John Elliot, Roxburgh Mains, Kelso, is a son of the top US feed efficiency sire, Nichols Expectation C370 and was bought by Garreth and Nicola Wood of Yester Estate, Gifford.

Used for two seasons in Mr Elliot’s Rawburn herd and the sire of more than 50 progeny already registered in the UK, Kaboom is an embryo son of the Rawburn Boss daughter, HW Karama T532. The bull is also maternal brother of the 73,500gns record priced female, Rawburn Karama A415 which sold to the same buyers at the online Rawburn heifer sale, earlier this year.

The 13-month-old heifer, Rawburn Karama B659, another bred from Karama T532 but sired by Blelack Dean Martin, has also been sold to Yester Estate.
