A choice heifer from Trevor Shields' Kilkeel herd topped the Ladies in Red Limousin export sale at Ballymena Mart, when the auctioneer’s hammer fell at 16,000gns.

Glenmarshal Armani, an August 2025-born heifer, is by the junior herd sire, Sunnyside Torpedo, an Ampertaine Foreman-sired bull. The dam is Gunnerfleet Pocks, which is a daughter of Ampertaine Magnum. Armani sold to new breeders, Mollie and Matthew Cochrane from Portadown.

The duo also bought the second top-priced heifer at 15,000gns from the same home. This was the January 2025-born Glenmarshal Allstar, the reserve senior champion at the pre-sale show and a daughter of Carrickmore Schumacher. Allstar is bred from the Ampertaine Elgin-sired Glenmarshal Twilight.

Adding to the herd celebrations, Mr Shields also took 8000gns for the 11-month-old Ampertaine Elgin-sired heifer, Glenmarshal Amazing, purchased by Simon Moore from Crumlin in Co Antrim.

Other top prices included an 11,000gns sale for Derriaghy Vogue, a two-year-old heifer sired by Gunnerfleet Lion and bred from Derriaghy Penny, from the Green family's herd based near Lisburn. The buyer was Lorraine Simmons from Antrim.

Just behind, on 10,000gns, Pointhouse Abby, a yearling heifer by Foxhillfarm Jasper from the Garvagh herd of Michael and Kile Diamond, headed home with Seamus Kesady from Spiddal in Co Galway. The dam is Pointhouse Twilight.

Matching that price was Slieve Abigail, a Claragh Franco-sired heifer bred from Slieve Stella from the Fivemiletown herd of John and Shane McGeehan. Finald bidder was Kieran Duffy from Athlone in Co Westmeath.
