A good crowd joined by online buyers ensured a buoyant trade at the on-farm Working Genes sale from the McGowan family, Incheoch in the Angus Glens, which saw a top price of £10,750 for a Simmental bull.
Top seller was the homozygous polled Incheoch Shane, a 16-month-old son of Clearwater Nitrous out of Auroch Deutor daughter Incheoch Calypso. The buyer was M Scott, South Ronaldsay.
No fewer than six bulls sold for around £10,000, three of which were homozygous polled, with the 14 Simmentals cashing in at £7857.

Texel shearlings peaked at £4550 for a son of Fearn Findhorn purchased by Harry Hamilton at Nunraw, Gifford, with the 37 head cashing in at £2258, down £61 on the year.
Lleyn shearlings levelled at £1370 for 47 (+£320) with the dearest at £2350, Incheoch Norseman selling to Dalmeny Estate.
All 86 rams forward found new homes, with 71% selling to repeat clients.
The Yourbid bidding platform meant that although most bidders were present on the day, 45% placed bids from home. While many had viewed stock prior to the sale, 25% of lots were sold unseen.
