Prices peaked at 2000gns at Skipton Auction Mart’s inaugural Spring sale of 36 Blue Texel and Badger Face Texel females.

Sale leader was a Blue Texel ewe lamb from mother and daughter, Elaine and Issy Hartley, who run the Pendle flock in Roughlee. Pendle Flash, a March, 2021-born daughter of a Millside sire, is bred from an imported dam and sold to Joanne Lyth, Bacup, Lancs.

Badger Faced Texels were topped at 1900gns by a March-born ewe lamb which sold with recipient dam from Caroline Brown and Shiela Mason, of Keasden Head, Clapham. Diva is by the imported, 2500gns Tamtain Boomtown sire and bred from the 6000gns Hackney Beyonce, a daughter of the 13,000gns Woodies Zara. Final bidder was Nigel Flanagan, Armagh, Northern Ireland.

The same vendors also claimed 1300gns for the individual ewe lamb, Caramel, one of April, 2021, twins to Tamtain Buster – a half brother to the 7500gns Tamtain Blackbird, out of Cleenagh Ambition. She sold down to Henley-in-Arden’s Daniel Creighton, West Midlands.
