New heights were reached for the Badger Face Welsh Mountain sheep breed at a society sale at Brecon which saw at least three breed records achieved.
Setting a new breed high of 5000gns for Society’s 50th anniversary year was a shearling ram from Matthew and Rhiannon Bevan of the Y-Fenni flock, Raglan, Monmouthshire.
Breed champion in the Torddu section, he sold to the pre-sale judge, Aron Hemmings, buying for his Llanfynydd, Carmarthenshire-based AJH flock.
Another shearling from the same home made 2300gns. Third in his class, he found a new home with Matthew and Donna Evans of the Skirrid flock Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
