With many thousands of acres heading into anaerobic digester plants this year, it’s time to harvest rye for that renewable industry. Our photographer, Emma Cheape, caught the Brown family’s contracting outfit, from Skeddoway, Fife, harvesting a big crop at the Young family’s Mawcarse Farm, Kinross, this week. It is heading for the Inchdairnie AD plant after being chopped to the right length by a Claas Jaguar 970 forager, which is pictured filling high-tip Dezeure trailers being used to transfer into AJ Nelson artic lorries for the journey
