THE Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust has confirmed that the Scottish Game Fair will go ahead this year.

Running from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 September, the NFU Mutual sponsored event will be held at its usual venue of Scone Palace in Perthshire.

This news is the result of a partnership between the GWCT and organisers of the Game Fair, the oldest and largest outdoor event of its kind in the world. The deal guarantees the income for the conservation charity and the long-term future of the three-day event which the Game Fair will now run under licence.

Chairman of GWCT in Scotland, David Noble, commented: “GWCT members, visitors and stakeholders can expect a fabulous event this year in the format they know and love in the wonderful setting of Scone Palace. Having missed the show last year, we are thrilled to be able to make this much-anticipated announcement. The event is so important to the region, the industry, our visitors and stakeholders and will provide much-needed funding for the GWCT.”

Managing director of the Game Fair, James Gower, added: “This new partnership demonstrates our commitment to the sector by supporting one of the most important charities. The Scottish Game Fair plays a hugely important role in providing funds for the GWCT and this exciting new arrangement with the Trust means that we can add our expertise to making this event a continuing success both this year and in the future.”
