Bluefaced Leicesters from the Wight family, Midlock, Crawford, secured two of the top three highest prices at a breed show and sale at J36.
Sale leader at £6000 was a Midlock ram lamb that is a full brother to the family’s £40,000 lamb sold at Hawes the previous week. He is by the M1 Riddings, out of a ewe by the home-bred L27 and sold to JC Walker and Son, Brennand.

The team also sold shearling rams at £2800 and £2400.
Second top price was £3800 paid for the pre-sale champion, a ram lamb from R Lawrence, Greaves Farm purchased by JC Browell and Sons, Quarry House Farm
The reserve, a ewe lamb from Jimmy Bell’s Cottage flock from Highfield, Peebles, sold for £2000. She is by the M25 Cottage and sold to David Lawson of the Gragareth flock from Carnforth.LEADING prices
