REVELLERS at the Royal Highland Show got into the event’s famous competitive spirit by taking part in special ‘snack races’ and a ‘tattie shy’ hosted by Taylors Snacks.

The Perthshire-based company, which recently launched Taylors to replace the Mackie’s of Scotland crisps and popcorn brand, hosted their twist on the traditional sack race and coconut shy throughout the four-day event at the Royal Highland Centre.

While 2000 livestock competitors entered into the event’s 900+ competitions during the Show, attendees lined up in Taylors tattie sacks at the brand’s race space located at the Countryside Area. The ‘Snack Race’ competitors raced to the finish line to win a special medal plus a selection of Taylors crisps, popcorn or Lentil Waves.

Taylors Snacks also ran a Tattie Shy, where families could compete to win sharing bags of crisps by knocking potatoes off stands in place of the traditional coconut.

Formerly Mackie’s Crisps, Taylors Snacks recently launched in Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores across Scotland under its new name in April 2023.
