Just shy of £28,000 was raised for Cancer Research at a barn dance and charity auction at Blairmore Farm, Drymen, in September.
The auction, conducted by United Auctions' Murray Steel, included many generous donations from friends and local farmers and included a dairy heifer, kindly donated by David Hamilton, Meldrum Farm, Doune. It sold for the top price of £4500 to Robert Denholm, Wester Lochrum, Bonnybridge
The auction alone raised a total of £13,500, with the barn dance and 'Wheel of Fortune' made from an old table drilled onto the wall of the barn, helping to raise the total to £27,632.45.
