Ayrshire-based butchery business, We Hae Meat, is continuing to gain in prominence according to a major industry report.

The company climbed four places, earning 17th position, in Kantar’s Top 50 Non-Alcoholic Scottish Brands Report for 2023.

Earlier this year We Hae Meat was named as one of Scotland’s top-10 fastest-growing food brands by Kantar. More recently, We Hae Meat was shortlisted in six categories for The Herald Scottish Family Business Awards 2023, including Fastest Growing Family Business and Business Innovation Award.

Founded in 2007 by husband and wife Alex and Carlyn Paton, We Hae Meat produces high-quality meat products from its farm and factory based in Ayrshire. It is the UK's biggest producer of Scottish square sausage, producing more than 21 million slices a year and currently supplies major grocery retailers in Scotland with its range, including Aldi, Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, and Co-Op.

Commercial manager, Craig Chalmers, said: "Earning 17th place in the Scottish Brands Report is another significant achievement for our business and a testament to all the hard work put in. We all know it’s been a difficult few years for consumers, which is why we’re especially proud that shoppers are choosing our brand. We’ve also had to adapt as a business to these challenging times, making sure that we provide a range of products to suit budgets and households, and staying true to the quality and value that we’re known for.”
