Wilson Peters came out on top at Alyth Show, winning the commercial cattle title, inter-breed beef honours and overall champion of champions for the second year in succession.
Last year Mr Peters, Monzie, Crieff, won the big one with Sassparilla, a home-bred black Limousin cross heifer by Carmorn Lionbar and it was another by the same sire that scooped the same honours this year.
Star attraction this time was CC Cindy, a 21-month-old black heifer that was inter-breed beef champion at Fife Show, and reserve inter-breed beef at both West Fife and Angus Shows.
Just pipped at the post by one point for the supreme which was selected on a points basis by the three inter-breed judges – beef cattle, sheep and horse – was the overall horse champion, a Highland pony from Alison Blackburn's Roisbheinn stud, Aberfeldy. This was Gypsy of Roisbheinn, a three-year-old filly by Thorn Logie out of Kit of Roisbheinn.
Leading a strong section of sheep was a home-bred one-crop Suffolk ewe from young Finlay Hunter, West Cairnhill, Insch. She is by Crewelands Kingpin and was on her first outing.
