Royal Highland Hoolie confirms 2025 acts for big weekend

This year’s Hoolie is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet, with a stellar line-up of high-energy performers ready to entertain audiences across two thrilling nights.

Headlining Friday’s show is The Whistlin' Donkeys, a crowd-favourite six-piece Irish folk-rock band famed for their raucous, foot-stomping live performances. Known for blending modern rock sensibilities with traditional Irish tunes, they’re sure to set the tone for an electric opening night.

Joining them on the Friday bill are Trail West, the dynamic West Coast group returning by popular demand after a memorable performance at last year’s Hoolie. Their signature mix of traditional folk instrumentation and contemporary flair makes them a standout act that’s sure to get the crowd moving once again.

Also performing is Mànran, one of Scotland’s most successful contemporary folk-rock bands. Celebrated for their fusion of Gaelic lyrics, traditional melodies, and modern rock elements, Mànran bring a powerful stage presence and a distinctly Scottish sound that continues to resonate with fans across the world.

Nathan Carter Saturday night brings a different flavour, as the Hoolie transitions to a country-inspired celebration led by none other than Nathan Carter. A chart-topping Irish country music star, Carter is renowned for his infectious energy and feel-good performances that blend Nashville country with Irish charm.

He’ll be joined by The Tumbling Paddies, a young and fast-rising Irish band whose energetic mix of traditional and modern country influences has won them a loyal and growing fanbase. Together, they promise a Saturday night filled with sing-alongs, dancing, and unforgettable moments.

The Hoolie is presented in partnership with Farmers Bash, a leading name in folk and country music promotion.
