Two men who were arrested after a teenager suffered an "electric shock" on a North Yorkshire farm have been bailed, police have confirmed.

The men, aged 47 and 71, were initially taken into custody after the incident on a farm in the Holme Lane area, near Stokesley on Tuesday (July 29).

Police, paramedics, and two air ambulances were called just before 5pm before the injured 19-year-old was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

(Image: NORTHERN ECHO) North Yorkshire Police has now confirmed the men have been bailed - as the investigation continues.

Pictures taken at the scene yesterday (Wednesday, July 30) show a police van parked in the centre of a field beside a combine harvester, just off Holme Lane.

One elderly man, who lives nearby, witnessed the 999 response and previously told The Northern Echo: “I saw all the vehicles there, it was at about 5.30pm yesterday.

“There were two helicopters and various vehicles there. I don’t know what has happened.”

A Great North Air Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "Shortly before 4pm our critical care team received a request from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to attend an incident in Seamer.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service added: "We received an emergency call at 3.45pm yesterday afternoon (29 July) to report an incident on a farm in the Stokesley area.

“Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Great North Air Ambulance Service resources attended the scene and one patient was conveyed by air to hospital."

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has also confirmed it has been made aware of the incident and is currently liaising with police.
