Two elite females rose to prominence at the 2026 Northern Ireland Limousin National championships at Castlewellan, where judge Bruce Goldie, Dumfries, selected the 18-month-old heifer, Glenmarshal Anastasia, supreme overall.
The heifer from Trevor Shields, Kilkeel, Co Down, also went on to be crowned inter-breed beef champion.
Mr Goldie described his champion as an almost perfect example of the breed, adding: “She also has tremendous character and ring presence.”
Anastasia is sired by Mr Shields’ stock bull, Carrickmore Schumacher.
Reserve was Rathkeeland Tendresse, a cow from Crawford Brothers, Maguiresbridge, Co Fermanagh, which was shown with her heifer calf at foot. Well known in the show circuit, Tendresse boasts six beef inter-breed championships.
Male champion was Michael Loughran’s Millgate Alloy, with the reserve honours presented to Derek and Jason Frew’s Frewstown Almighty.
