Carrot growers from across the UK are being invited to York next month for the 2026 British Carrot Growers Association (BCGA) Demonstration Day, where more than 70 carrot trial plots and the latest developments in crop production will be on display.
The event, taking place on 1 October and hosted by BCGA chairman Rodger Hobson of Hobson Farming, has become a key date in the vegetable-growing calendar, bringing together growers, breeders, agronomists and suppliers from across the sector.
Alongside the extensive carrot trials, delegates will also have the opportunity to view a nearby parsnip trial featuring 11 varieties, offering further insight into new genetics and production techniques.
Organisers say this year's event is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet, with 24 exhibition stands already confirmed and several companies exhibiting for the first time.

The exhibition area will provide growers and industry professionals with the chance to meet suppliers, learn about new products and services, and discuss some of the latest challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
BCGA chairman Rodger Hobson said the event continues to grow in both scale and importance.
"The BCGA Demonstration Day is growing year on year, and it is the place for growers and the wider supply chain to come together to see the latest varieties in the field, and to share knowledge and experiences with others across the industry," he said.
"The extensive trials of both carrots and parsnips, as well as a strong line-up of exhibitors, will make for an invaluable day for everyone."
The association has also confirmed support from a number of industry partners, with BASF Nunhems sponsoring lunch, Elsoms sponsoring breakfast and Hazera Seeds acting as programme partner.
With organisers expecting more than 250 delegates, the event also offers businesses a valuable platform to promote their products and services directly to growers and other industry decision-makers.
Additional sponsorship opportunities remain available, and companies interested in exhibiting or supporting the event are being encouraged to contact the BCGA for further details.
