A Blue Texel ewe lamb from David Gray's Ettrick flock, based at Sunnycroft, Lindean, led the MV-accredited pedigree lamb section held on the Friday evening of this year’s LiveScot event.
On her first outing, she is a daughter of Lyles Eagle and out of Corra Domino, which won this year's Northumberland Show and stood first in her class at the Great Yorkshire Show, last year. She is an ET sister to ewe lambs which have sold to 6800gns this year.
Allan Campbell, Strawfrank, Lanark, secured the reserve MV championship with a Texel ewe lamb. Again on its first outing, this one is sired by Haymount Enter The Dragon, out of a Clarks bred ewe which goes back to Midlock Bright Spark.
In the non-MV section, Robert Hamilton, High Crewburn, Strathaven, took home the top award with a Texel ewe lamb. Having been successfully shown this summer at Strathaven and Chapeltown shows, this girl was bred from a Thinacres Yorkie sired-dam, and is by Hathren Enfawr, which was bought out of Lanark.

The blue and white sash in this section was awarded to a Bluefaced Leicester ewe lamb from David Bryson’s Mauchline-based flock.
This one is by the 8000gns J2 Lunesdale, from which David bought semen from Alec Brown and the dam, a home-bred ewe, had previously been on the show circuit. This ewe lamb should be heading to the summer shows, next year.
